Mission Statement

The Association of Natural Psychology is a professional organization designed to provide accurate information in the field of mental health. Non-pharmaceutical strategies and solutions are developed in this site from many sources. The information is presented as accurately as current and reliable sources will allow, and only well-documented information is used on this site.

The work of a number of organizations and psychologists in the field of mental health have been  used to develop this site, as well as the life-work of psychologists and special education teachers in the public school system.

For anyone who is currently on medication who is attempting to pursue non-pharmaceutical strategies, it is generally recognized that it is best not to come off medication abruptly, but rather, gradually, as frequent and rapid changes in one's treatment  can lead to complications.

However, it is possible to successfully treat many forms of mental health difficulties without medication, if one is diligent and works hard at it. Lifestyle changes and developing coping skills, as building support from others can be helpful in overcoming mental health difficulties. This is true of adults, teenagers, and children. And the principles in this site apply equally in many respects to both adults and children.

It is hoped this information will help many to cope with and  overcome mental health difficulties by developing coping skills, non-pharmaceutical strategies, and implementing lifestyle changes, that will lead to more permanent benefits in good mental health. Also, not to be overlooked is giving consideration to the spiritual side of our lives, which is also of value in the field of mental health.
